Exploring bias and duality through the lens of perspective. We often hold our own objective realities which transcends into the meaning we accord to one another when seen. If this, then that.

What does it really mean to be seen?

Throughout our lives we perceive the world through the voice in our heads, controlling the show through gathered information within the range of our sight, the scents of our circumstances, our taste of now, the vibrations in our ears while recycling the energy of physical and emotional encounters. There’s often a strangeness of sharing this world with others - our mass collection of individual filters, perpetually blurring and masking an original image of collective experience through a life of daily flux of contradictions.

This piece tilted to autoethnography to embrace the duality of being a living contradiction. Formed to carry the emotions of the knots we feel within, in a bid to strike a balance with the existence of awareness, deep thinking and perfectionism in the soul fuelled by curiosity, wonder, care and dissociation in a data/information driven and anxiety inducing world. This piece also strives to bridge the co-existence of utilitarianism and fetishism expected of clay with the contemporary versatility it can afford. Opening it up for being seen to arrive at an interpretation.
